The underwater photograms in this series were created with water collected from the Hopi Reservation in Northern Arizona. The water delivered to homes on the Hopi Reservation has extraordinarily high levels of arsenic due to mining contamination and ongoing drought conditions. With the help of a Hopi Elder, Ernest Taho, I was able to collect water from homes on the reservation that had water filters, as well as from homes with unfiltered water, and a natural spring. These images show the difference between water with high levels of arsenic and filtered water.

Ernest Taho has worked diligently for the past two years to provide filters to the homes on the Hopi Reservation. For more information about Ernest's project and how you can help, please visit cleanwaterfoundationwa.org/
